East China Normal University Scholarships 2025-26 for International Students

This opportunity is available to international students worldwide who wish to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees under the Shanghai Government and Chinese Government Scholarships. The scholarships cover full tuition, accommodation, and living expenses, making it a fully funded opportunity for the academic session 2025/2026.
Scholarship Benefits
The ECNU Scholarships offer two types of funding:
Type A (Full Scholarship)
- Tuition fee waiver
- On-campus accommodation
- Comprehensive medical insurance
- Monthly stipend:
- CNY 3,500 for PhD students
- CNY 3,000 for Master’s students
- CNY 2,500 for Undergraduate students
Type B (Partial Scholarship)
- Tuition fee exemption
- Comprehensive medical insurance

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens in good health
- Meet the following education & age requirements:
- Pre-college program: High school diploma, under 23 years old
- Bachelor’s program: High school diploma, under 25 years old
- Master’s program: Bachelor’s degree, under 35 years old
- PhD program: Master’s degree, under 40 years old
- Applicants who already hold a Chinese Government Scholarship are not eligible

- Academic transcripts
- Copy of valid passport
- Recommendation letters (2)
- Study plan & motivation letter
- Health certificate
- Non-criminal record certificate
- Acceptance letter (for PhD applicants)
- Language Proficiency Certificate (if English is not the first language)

Applicants must complete an online application following these steps:
- Register & Apply via the ECNU portal: ECNU Application Portal
- For Chinese Government Scholarship: Apply via the CSC Portal (CSC Portal) using Agency Number: 10269
- For Shanghai Government Scholarship: Apply at Shanghai Government Scholarship Portal
