Applications for the CAS ANSO Scholarships in China are now open. This initiative, established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and 36 global academic and scientific institutions, aims to improve human well-being and enhance scientific and technological capabilities both regionally and globally.
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) offer a range of master’s and doctoral programs supported by this scholarship. These fully funded scholarships encourage international collaboration in the fields of science and technology.
CAS ANSO Scholarship 2025 Details:

For PhD Candidates:
- Tuition fees are waived.
- A monthly stipend of 6,000 or 7,000 CNY for up to 48 months post-qualification.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must not hold Chinese citizenship.
- Proficiency in English or Chinese is required.
- Birth date criteria:
- Master’s program: born after January 1, 1995.
- PhD program: born after January 1, 1990.
- Candidates must meet USTC/UCAS’s international admission requirements.
- Applicants cannot have other assignments during the scholarship period.
- Current master’s or doctoral students in China are ineligible to apply.
- Awardees must complete centralized training in Chinese language and culture.

- Create an account on the CAS ANSO Scholarship online application portal.
- Complete the application form, following provided instructions.
- Upload the required documents.
- Select the institute for your application (USTC or UCAS).
- Submit your application.
Required Documents:
- Photocopy of passport (valid for at least one year).
- Research proposal (minimum 800 words).
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Two recommendation letters from professors, including contact information.
- Foreign Physical Examination Form.
- HSK certificate or proof of Chinese language proficiency (for Chinese programs).
- Valid IELTS or TOEFL results or proof of English proficiency (for English programs).
- Photocopy of degree certificate or pre-graduation certificate.
- Academic transcripts for both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
- Official documents confirming your student status.
- For employed applicants, provide relevant official documents.
