Asia Pacific University MEXT Scholarship 2025 for International Students
Applications are now open for the Asia Pacific University MEXT Scholarship 2025 in Japan. International students from countries maintaining diplomatic relations with Japan are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. The Japanese Government offers this fully funded scholarship at Asia Pacific University (APU) for those pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree. Notably, there is no requirement for IELTS or TOEFL scores.
For master’s and PhD programs, the MEXT scholarship is fully funded, whereas it provides partial tuition for bachelor’s degrees. Students can choose from various courses offered at Asia Pacific University, with the scholarship covering all other major expenses.
Founded in 1993, the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) offers programs in media, business, engineering, and information technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Financial Benefits:
The MEXT Scholarship at APU offers international students the following benefits:
- 100% tuition coverage through the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship.
- A monthly living allowance of 144,000 JPY (subject to change).
- Economy-class airfare to and from Japan at the beginning and end of the program.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must intend to study in Japan from abroad.
- They should not hold Japanese nationality and must be citizens of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan.
- Applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1990.
- A GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale from the most recent academic institution is required.
- English proficiency equivalent to a B2 level or higher on the CEFR scale (e.g., TOEFL iBT score of 72 or IELTS score of 5.5 or above). If no English test score is available, an English proficiency certificate from the previous institution, stating that the degree was taught in English, can be submitted.
